Vital Life is a Canadian company that provides vocational rehabilitation, disability management and return to work services throughout Western Canada.

We are currently seeking a PART-TIME, with potential of full-time, Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, Contractor to develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans and facilitate return to work programs for the regions of Oliver & Penticton. Travel is required. This is a home-based position that offers professional autonomy and excellent remuneration.

Scope of Position:


We utilize a multidisciplinary approach with a best practice philosophy. We return individuals to employment in the most cost effective manner for our customers while done in a respectful and safe manner for our clients. Where possible, the Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant assists in restoring the individual to the previous level of function. In every case we seek to enhance the individual’s quality of life as they recover from or learn to cope with any form of disability. Our approach is holistic utilizing many community resources. You will be working with many professionals, running group programs and giving presentations.




• MSW or other University Degree (health related preferably)
• Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation in rehabilitation and/or disability management field (RRP, CVP, CCRC, CRTW, CDMP, RSW, OT, Kin)
• Experience in vocational rehabilitation; mental health; group work; return to work coordination; insurance work; case management; or employment counselling and job search assistance preferred.


Skills and Requirements:


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (particularly an ability to craft comprehensive rehabilitation reports), ability to run groups and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Experience in working with both physical and mental health claims
• Experience working with short term, LTD and WCB claims
• Experience in employment counselling and job search assistance
• Must have excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
• Strong interpersonal and counselling skills are an asset
• Access to a vehicle, ability to travel and a valid driver’s license required
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with customers and/or referral sources
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office; Outlook, and familiar with social media.
